New Hire Orientation

Do you provide your staff with the best office furniture but they are still slouching or complaining of aches and pains?

This is all too common. With the best of intentions, companies often spare no expenses to provide their staff with the best of the best yet they do not educate them on how to use the furniture correctly.

Do you want your new hires to have the necessary knowledge on how to set up their workstation, how to reduce the risk of pain or discomfort from poor posture at work and know what resources are available to them?

If the answer is yes then development of a new hire orientation would get the new starters setup well from day 1. By starting off with the best setup possible, you are enabling your employees and giving them the opportunity to be comfortable at their desk as well as an understanding of what resources are available to them if they needed any further support around ergonomics.

How is the new hire orientation specific to each company?

  • We provide different options depending on your business’ need
  • On-site new hire seminar on desk set-up with company specific furniture and general ergonomics tips [as part of new hire orientation/induction or as a standalone event]
  • New hire webinar on desk set-up with company specific furniture and general ergonomics tips [as part of new hire orientation/induction or as a standalone event]
  • Pre-recorded webinar on desk set-up with company specific furniture and general ergonomics tips
  • Pre-recorded generic talk on desk set-up and general ergonomics tips

FAQ

Can this be completed as part of new hire orientation week? i.e. is it possible to arrange an evaluation for an employee as and when required?

Yes, we work with companies where we provide evaluations, in person or virtually when new employees start. When a small number of evaluations are required at a time or on a specific day, a virtual evaluation is a good option.

Is this done in person or virtually?

These evaluations can be done in person or virtually as agreed with you.

If the new employee completes the evaluation but has unresolved issues what should they do?

Each employee who completes an evaluation is followed up by us 2 weeks post. This is an opportunity to discuss any issues with an Ergonomist. If issues persist, the employee may require further support from an Ergonomist.

A new employee has a specific medical condition and requires ergonomic input for their workstation, can you provide this?

Yes. During the evaluation we will discuss this with the employee and determine how best to set up their workstation to meet their specific needs.
