A one-to-one 30-minute ergonomics evaluations over video conferencing using Fit for Work’s assessment software to document the evaluation and generate a report. During this time, brief background information gathering is done to understand if the user has any aches, pains or conditions before starting the assessment. Next, we find out about the user’s typical work day to understand their computer/work demands. After this, through detailed questioning and use of the camera/video we assess the user at their desk and use ergonomic and anthropometric theory to instruct on adjustments to improve the desk set up as required using the equipment/furniture that is already in situ. The user is educated on the importance of ergonomics at work and using devices on the move and at home and, where required and with knowing what is available at each site, we may recommend the use of ergonomics accessories. Follow up contact is made with the user (after an agreed period) to ensure that the new setup is meeting their needs and no further active ergonomics support is required.
We complete virtual ergonomics evaluations via your preferred video conferencing tool e.g. Zoom, Microsoft teams, google hangouts etc. A 30-minute slot at a specified time is agreed with each employee. The Ergonomist will take the employee through a full assessment of the furniture and equipment that they are using
We will ask the employee to describe or provide pictures/ show us via video as much as possible. We find that virtual ergonomics evaluations work well.
Prior to completing ergonomics evaluation for those who are working from home, we will create a pathway with you for the procurement of equipment for your team. This will be planned and agreed upon prior to carrying out evaluations.
This is situation specific. We do follow up with each employee via email 2 weeks post evaluation. At this point, we will work with the employee to resolve any ongoing issues as possible.
A. We operate on a 48-hour cancellation policy for all services. If the evaluation is cancelled less than 48 hours prior, there will be a charge of ½ the normal fee of the service. If there is a cancellation less than 24 hours before the evaluation, the charge will be the full amount.
If the employee is more than 10 minutes late to the virtual evaluation, it will need to be rescheduled
The employee will need a webcam and audio access for their virtual evaluation. We encourage employees to check with equipment prior to the evaluation.
